Crawl Space Encapsulation Products Prevent Moisture Damage
Along with both interior and exterior waterproofing products designed to keep water out of basements, Earth Contact Products also offers crawl space encapsulation products that can prevent moisture issues in your clients’ crawl spaces.
Moisture can wreak havoc on crawl spaces, with issues ranging from mold and mildew to wood rot. Using ECP’s crawl space encapsulation products can stop these issues from reoccurring or, if done preventatively, keep them from happening at all.
Vapor Barriers
Vapor barriers serve as a crucial line of defense against moisture, and ECP offers both 12 mil and 20 mil options to protect your space.
The 12 mil barrier contains white, triple-ply polyethylene film laminated together with a heavy scrim reinforcement placed between the plies to enhance tear resistance.
ECP’s 20 mil barrier consists of white high-strength virgin polyethylene film laminated together with a black layer of molten polyethylene.
Both outer layers contain UV inhibitors and thermal stabilizers to ensure longer life while reducing head build-up and condensation. Heavy-duty diamond reinforcements respond to tears immediately by surrounding and stopping the tear.
The ECP Vapor Barrier offers several advantages:

Dehumidifiers

ECP offers four different Santa Fe dehumidifiers, allowing you to customize your recommendations to the size of their crawl space.
They range from the Classic for spaces up to 2,500 square feet to the Compact for spaces up to 1,600.
Crawl Space Systems

A sealed sump pump system can remove water while simultaneously preventing soil gases from escaping into the crawl space. This can be enhanced by placing a dimple drain sheet below the vapor barriers.
